More details:

SSC has a range of brake pads to suit every application depending on your usage. The pads we keep in stock and the typical applications are as follows;

  • Pagid RS14: These will give the best track performance within the range but they do have a tendancy to make a lot of noise when driven at street speeds and loads.
  • Ferodo DS3000: A high performance road & track pad for those looking higher on the performance scale but not requiring a race pad. With a higher coeficient of friction than the DS2500 that climbs with temperature this pad will cater for most frequent track cars which also get used on the road. These may squeal a little from time to time.
  • Ferodo DS2500: A good alternative to the Lotus factory fitted pad which has a good initial bite. These parform better than the OEM pad and rarely cause any noise.
  • OEM: There will always be people who want to stick to the factory fitted pad, they may not be up there on the performance scale however you will be safe in the knowledge that youre driving the car as Lotus intended

SSC's Opinion

One day there will be a pad which ticks all the boxes of performance, noise and wear but untill that day comes you will have to weight up the options and make the trade off.
