This upgraded master cylinder has an increased bore over the standard unit. This means that more fluid is displaced per unit of travel, and therefore, reduces the pedal travel associated with the fitment of callipers with an increase in the overall piston area.
This upgrade is highly recommended for those who regularly track or race their Lotus equipped with larger than standard braking systems, and/or those who have problems with a long pedal.
SSC's Opinion
Upgrading your front 2 piston callipers to a 4 piston big brake kit, coupled with relocating the existing front calipers to the rear will lead to a longer brake pedal. This can quite often make heal-toe action tricky. The only way to improve this is to increase the piston size at the master cylinder.
