More details: After breaking numerous Lotus OEM gear cables at the race track and continuous complaints of the ‘sloppy’ shift of the gear mechanism SSC have designed and developed an up rated shift cable in conjunction with a leading transmission control manufacturer which is a direct replacement to the OEM cable. The cable will cope with any race conditions, provide a better shift feel, and eliminate any play seen in the cheap standard cable ends.

This is achieved through Brass nickel plated rod guide sleeves at each end with dust seals replacing the standard plastic guides which frequently break under heavy repetitive loads. Each end of the cable is fitted with rod ends replacing the standard joints which have been found to contain an extensive amount of movement before tension in the cable is taken up. On top of this the cable is constructed of a splined core allowing a close low friction fit with the inner cable giving higher efficiency, and no backlash for a smoother shift operation with reduced play.
